Rae Frank, Director
I joined Independent Living in March, 2014. My background includes over 10 years of managing employment and training programs including the disability employment initiative. I provide direction for the daily operations of the Center along with planning and implementing program delivery. My goal for Independent Living of Genesee Region is to be a vibrant presence of advocacy and services for people with disabilities. I live in Wyoming County with my husband, son and two teenage daughters. We enjoy photography, taking walks and Letchworth State Park.
Donna Becker, Assistant to the Director
I joined the ILGR staff in January 2013 and bring to the agency 15 plus years of office management skills. I do a little bit of everything at ILGR including Administrative Assistant duties, organizing our Loan Closet where I assist those in need with assistive technology equipment and volunteer/intern coordinator. I have been married for 40 years, have 3 married children and 4 adorable grandchildren. I love to walk for exercise, garden, bake, and volunteer at a not-for-profit pregnancy center 1 night a week.
Patricia McAllister, CDPAS Coordinator
I was born and raised in Batavia, my husband and I raised our sons in rural Genesee County and we now enjoy our time with our four terrific grandchildren. I started my career working with special needs children back in 1980; then continued working with children for another 31 years. In the short time I’ve been with Independent Living, I’ve discovered a surprising resource for persons with disabilities; full of caring Staff with a wealth of knowledge in gaining independence and self-sufficiency. I’m thrilled to learn we have such a valuable source of assistance for our disabled population; and I’m proud to be a part of this great team.
David Dodge, Independent Living Specialist
I work as an Independent Living Specialist assisting consumers in a variety of different areas including employment, housing, peer counseling and other areas as well. I am the Public Information Officer for the Genesee County Interagency and also sit on the Advisory Council for the Visions of Hope program provided by the Genesee and Orleans Mental Health Association. In addition, I sit on the Assistive Technology Taskforce for the NYS Commission for the Blind. As an individual with a disability myself, I am interested in helping people with disabilities achieve their goals.
Debra McKnight, Independent Living Specialist
My name is Debra McKnight and I reside in LeRoy, NY. I moved to LeRoy 4 years ago from Rochester, NY. Since living in LeRoy, I have obtained my Human Service & Substance Abuse Degree from Genesee Community College. I have continued my education by joining the cohort-Social Work Bachelor Degree Program at Keuka College and am well on my way. From my life experiences, combined with my educational background, my hopes are not to change the world but to enhance the quality of life one person at a time, one day at a time.
Edna Painter, Independent Living Specialist
As an Independent Living Specialist, I assist disabled individuals with setting goals in order to live independently in the community. I live in Wyoming County with my 21 year old grandson. We enjoy boating at Silver Lake.
Jennifer Siano, Independent Living Specialist
I joined the Independent Living team in January 2016 as an Independent Living Specialist. I obtained my Bachelor's Degree at SUNY Brockport in 2012. My background includes working at the Genesee ARC, Domestic Violence Case Manager, and prevention services which included educating the community about domestic violence.
Colleen Larson, Care Coordinator
I graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Health and Human Services from University at Buffalo in 2007. I served in the Peace Corps in Africa and have been in human services ever since! I worked under OPWDD for many years as a Medicaid Service Coordinator and then as a Supervisor. I also worked for the New York State of Health Marketplace. I have knowledge in the areas of health insurance, Social Security and other benefits, and self-directed services. I live in Batavia with my brother. My brother has autism and has chosen to self-direct all of his services. I love it here at ILGR, but my first (and favorite) job is to be a mom to my two little twin girls!
Andrea McPherson, Health Homes Outreach Specialist
I joined Independent Living in January 2016. My background includes over 10 years of teaching and tutoring experience within the school districts of Wyoming County. As part of the team here, I help support individuals with developmental disabilities gain competitive employment opportunities and build relationships with employers in the community. I have been a member of the Wyoming County Relay for Life team for 5 years, which helps to raise money for the American Cancer Society. In my free time, I love to spend time with my niece and nephews, crochet, knit and watch football.
Tina McCue, Personal Care Assistant Specialist
I am new to Independent Living and happy to be here. My background includes numerous years within the human resources field and volunteer work for youth of all ages. I am responsible for the recruitment and orientation of Personal Care Aides for consumers of the Taking Control Program.
Jeanette Grimaldi, Deaf Service Coordinator & ASL Instructor
I received my BSW from Buffalo State College in 1994. Since 2007, I have been the Deaf Service Coordinator and American Sign Language instructor for Western New York Independent Living Center. This includes the family of agencies of Independent Living of Genesee Region and Independent Living of Niagara County. I teach American Sign Language to all ages including toddlers, children, adult and seniors.
